  • Materials:​ The core element is a sintered ceramic mass of zinc oxide (ZnO) grains with other metal oxides. The electrodes are a silver alloy. The outer coating is a blue or orange flame-retardant epoxy resin. The leads are tinned copper, compliant with lead-free soldering processes.
  • Construction:​ A monolithic, disc-shaped ZnO block between two metal electrode plates, encapsulated in an insulating, non-flammable epoxy housing. Radial leads are welded for secure connection.
