The IC693MDL390 is a GE Fanuc isolated AC output module for the 90-30 series Programmable Logic Unit. Its current rating is 2 Amps with a voltage rating of 120/240 volts. It comes with five isolated output points, each having a separate common. The commons are not tied to each other inside the module, which makes it possible for each output to be either applied on different phases of the AC power supply or for power to be delivered from the same supply. Each output is fused with a 3 Amp fuse and an RC snubber to protect it from transient electric noise emanating from the power line.
The IC693MDL390 module delivers a high degree of inrush current which is greater than 10 times the rated current making the outputs perfect for controlling a wide range of inductive and incandescent loads. The user must provide AC power to operate the loads. NOTE: This module runs on AC power and cannot be used with a DC power source. At the top of the IC693MDL390 module are LED indicators, which show the ON/OFF status of each output point. They are arranged in two horizontal rows with each row having eight green LEDs and a red LED between and to the right of the two rows. For the output status, the module uses the first five LEDs labelled A1 to A5 in the top row. The red LED labelled ‘F’ is a blown fuse indicator that comes ON should any fuse blow.
An insert is placed between the inside and outside surface of the hinged door, which contains circuit wiring information. The circuit identification information can be retrieved on the outside surface. The module is color-coded red to indicate a high-voltage module. This module is installable on any I/O slot in a Series 90-30 PLC system, and it should be configured as an 8 point output with programs referencing the five least significant bits. Output characteristics include inrush current of 25 amps maximum for one cycle, minimum load current of 100 mA, and output voltage drop of 1.5 volts maximum. Output leakage current is 3 mA maximum at 120 volts AC and 6 mA maximum at 240 volts AC.
