The IC697CHS790 is a 9-slot Rear Mount for IC697 programmable controller used for CPU and I/O configurations. There is capability for one power supply for the standard 9-slot rack located at the leftmost module position. The IC697CHS790 rack mounts in a 10 inch deep enclosure where fans are not normally required. The rack’s dimensions are 11.15” H x 19” W x 7.5” D with controller slot width being 1.6” W and the width of the supply slot at 2.4” W. Each rack offers a slot sensing for rack-type I/O created for the IC697 PLC. No switches or jumpers on the I/O modules are needed.
The mounting for the IC697CHS790 rack requires enough space to allow for proper cooling of system modules. The requirements for mounting must be determined according to the application and the proper rack ordered. The mounting flanges are conveniently factory installed in the rack’s side panels.
The IC697 I/O modules interlock by use of a key to avoid unintended interchange of a module type for another module type. Each module includes a key that latches on mechanically to the center rail of the rack, where it stays until the module is removed. If the module is not the correct type, it cannot be inserted into that rack slot. A rack number from 0-7 must be assigned when there are several racks in a system; the CPU rack is always rack 0. The number of each rack will be determined by the PLC from the four jumpers on the rack’s backplane. The backplane location is directly behind the power supply, and the jumpers are on the backplane.
