GE IC693PCM300 Series 90-30 Programmable Coprocessor Module Digital I/O Module

The IC693PCM300 Programmable Coprocessor Module, manufactured by GE Fanuc, is a high-performance coprocessor designed for 90-30 modular CPUs. It should be noted that this module is incompatible with CPU models 311, 313, or 323. It supports programming in C and MegaBasic languages. A free program for this module is available for download from the GE Fanuc website. The IC693PCM300 PCM comes in three versions: IC693PCM300, IC693PCM301, and IC693PCM302. These modules are engineered to communicate with various devices such as barcode readers, printers, scales, CRTs, programming terminals, and RTU master devices, among others.

During installation, the PCM can only be mounted on the CPU base plate, with the exception that slot 1 must house a CPU module. As previously mentioned, this PCM is not compatible with embedded CPUs of versions 311, 313, or 323. Normally, the LED indicators remain lit to signify that the module is functioning properly. LED US1 flashes to indicate activity on Port 1, and LED US2 flashes to show activity on Port 2. In the absence of any activity, both LEDs stay off. It is worth noting that users can further customize the function of these LEDs to meet their specific requirements. For RAM memory backup, a lithium battery is installed inside the PCM faceplate. For shipping purposes, the battery is disconnected and should be connected prior to installing the module. If the PCM is to be stored for an extended period, it is advisable to disconnect the battery unless there is a need to preserve the program stored in the RAM.
