The IC697CGR772 is a hot-standby, dual-bus Central Processing Unit (CPU) module belonging to the Series 90-70 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform. Originally manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, the module is now part of Emerson Automation following an acquisition. It is specifically designed for applications requiring high availability and fault tolerance—when paired with another identical CPU, it delivers key redundant capabilities: bumpless transfer, automatic synchronization, redundant backup communication, one-scan switching, and elimination of single points of failure.

Memory: Equipped with 512 KB of Random Access Memory (RAM), including battery-backed CMOS RAM maintained by the IC697ACC701 lithium battery. This replaceable battery also preserves the module’s date and time. A built-in memory protection switch prevents unintended modification of memory contents when enabled.
I/O Handling: Supports up to 2,048 discrete inputs, 2,048 discrete outputs, and 8,000 analog I/Os—making it suitable for large-scale automation setups. It is fully compatible with all GE Fanuc IC660/IC661 and IC697 I/O products, enabling the implementation of complete, flexible automation solutions.
