The IC693MDL752 is a dual-mode discrete output module belonging to the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product line. Originally manufactured by GE Fanuc, this product family is now under the ownership of Emerson Automation. Classified as a negative logic output module, it supports two operating modes—12/24 Volts DC (VDC) and 5 VDC TTL—offering exceptional flexibility for diverse industrial automation scenarios.
This module features 32 discrete output points, logically organized into 4 independent groups with 8 output channels per group. Each group is equipped with its own common terminal, and crucially, every group can be individually configured to operate in either 12/24 VDC mode or TTL mode. This independent configurability allows the module to adapt to mixed-load requirements in a single application, though users should account for potential electrical noise when different groups operate in distinct modes.
Electrical specifications vary by operating mode to match application needs. In 12/24 VDC mode, the module has a nominal output voltage of 24 VDC (with a range of 10.2–28.8 VDC). It delivers an output current rating of 0.5 Amperes (A) per point, 4 A per group, and a maximum of 3 A per common pin. In TTL mode, the nominal output voltage is 5 VDC (range: 4.75–5.25 VDC), and each output channel provides an output current rating of 0.25 milliamps (mA), with a peak sinking current of 25 mA per point. As a sinking-type (negative logic) module, its "ON" state corresponds to an active low output signal.
Isolation performance is a key design strength of the IC693MDL752. It provides 1500 Volts of isolation between the field side and logic side, with 250 Volts of isolation between individual output groups. Opto-couplers ensure reliable backplane isolation between the logic and field sides, while each output point is equipped with an integrated pull-up resistor to enhance signal stability. The module utilizes 32 bits of discrete output data, and its operational status is easily monitorable via dedicated LED indicators for each output point.
Two recommended wiring methods simplify connection to output devices. The direct method employs pre-wired cables (IC693CBL327 and IC693CBL328), which feature a pre-assembled connector on one end and flying leads on the other for straightforward termination. The alternative TBQC method uses a terminal block quick connect for efficient wiring. Physical connections to output circuits are established via two 24-pin male connectors mounted on the front of the I/O module.
