The IC693CHS397 is a 5-slot baseplate belonging to the GE Fanuc Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) product family. Though designated as a “5-slot” baseplate, the IC693CHS397 actually features six total slots—five numbered operational slots and one dedicated, non-numbered slot exclusively for power supply modules. This power supply slot is uniquely sized and shaped, ensuring it can only accommodate power supply units and preventing incorrect installation of other modules. Of the five numbered slots, one is specifically allocated to CPUs or specialty modules (earning the baseplate its “CPU baseplate” classification), while the remaining four are reserved for I/O modules and optional modules. Notably, the CPU slot (Slot 1) also offers compatibility with communication modules, such as FIP Remote I/O scanners, expanding its functional versatility.
