The IC697MEM732 is an expansion memory module engineered and produced by GE Fanuc, belonging to the Series 90-70 PLC product line. Boasting a maximum memory capacity of 512 KB, this module is specifically designed to supply dedicated logic and data memory for GE Fanuc CPU models 780, 781, 782, 788, and 789, thereby underpinning the stable and efficient operation of the host CPUs.

Physically, the IC697MEM732 is deployed as a daughterboard that shares the same slot with its associated module, eliminating the need for an additional dedicated slot for installation. The baseboard of the module integrates the RAM component, while the module itself offers scalable memory configurations with available capacities of 128 KB, 256 KB, and 512 KB. Configurable for both data storage and program storage, the module features non-volatile memory functionality that prevents data loss in the event of power interruption.

To further ensure data integrity and continuous system functionality, the IC697MEM732 is equipped with a lithium battery mounted on the baseboard housing. This battery not only safeguards memory data during power outages but also maintains the normal operation of the calendar clock when the system is powered off. For uninterrupted power supply during battery replacement, it is recommended that the new battery be installed prior to removing the old one. Additionally, the module’s logic program memory undergoes automatic error checking, which is executed as a background process by the host PLC CPU.
