The IC693CMM321 is an Ethernet interface module belonging to the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform. Produced by GE Fanuc Automation, this module is primarily designed to directly connect a Series 90-30 baseplate to an existing Ethernet network. Its core purposes include implementing distributed I/O architectures and enabling communication between CPUs, communication adapters, and remote stations, as well as Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems, and Distributed Control Systems (DCS).

The IC693CMM321 comes equipped with multiple communication interfaces to fulfill diverse operational tasks: one RS-232 RJ-11 serial port serving as the Station Manager Port, one RS-485 15-pin D-type serial port used as the Software Loader Port, and one AAUI port for connecting the module to the Ethernet network. Additionally, the module is fitted with LED indicators (OK, LAN, SER, and STAT) that allow users to monitor the operation of each port and the overall status of the module. Specifically, these indicators reflect the interface state, traffic on the transceiver and downloader ports, and the presence of exception events, respectively.

For full functionality, the IC693CMM321 is optimally used with a CPU running version 6.50 or higher. It can also be utilized with CPU versions 5.03 to 6.04; however, Ethernet operation will be limited to just one SRTP server connection in such cases. For configuration, a range of programming software is compatible, including Logicmaster 90-30 (version 6.01 or higher), Control (version 2.01 or higher), and VersaPro (version 1.0 or higher), all of which are installed on a computer.

The GE Fanuc Series 90-30 IC693CMM321 Ethernet Interface TCP/IP Module is capable of diagnosing and maintaining PLC systems, initiating data transfers from the PLC to other devices, communicating with multiple devices simultaneously, and supporting up to 16 server connections. One or two of these Ethernet Interface TCP/IP modules can be installed on any type of GE Series 90-30 baseplate at a time. Notably, the module is not compatible with GE handheld programmers from the Series 90-30/20/Micro product lines.
