The IC693PWR331 is a high-capacity power supply module belonging to GE Fanuc's Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) lineup. It provides three distinct output voltages to support various operational functions: +5VDC with a maximum power output of 30 Watts, +24VDC relay output (15 Watts max), and +24VDC isolated output (20 Watts max). As a high-capacity unit, the full 30-Watt load capacity can be allocated to the +5VDC output terminal; however, the total combined output power of all channels must not exceed 30 Watts. The +24VDC relay output is designed to power the electronic circuitry of output relay modules, while the +24VDC isolated output is used internally by select modules and as an external power source for 24VDC input modules.
Equipped with an RS485 communication terminal, the IC693PWR331 enables connection to workstations installed with GE Proficy Software for configuration purposes. This same RS485 port also supports connections to Hand-Held Programmers (HHPs) and other devices compliant with the RS485 communication standard.
The module features LED indicators (PWR, OK, RUN, and BATT) that provide real-time status feedback on the module itself and the connected components. It also incorporates a battery backup function to preserve the contents of the PLC's volatile memory. The BATT indicator specifically monitors the battery charge level, serving as a reference for determining when battery replacement is necessary. Both the battery connection terminals and the termination strip for incoming wires are located on the front panel, behind a swing-out door.
For the isolated power supply, the bottom terminal of the IC693PWR331 connects to the isolated +24VDC output, which supplies power to external circuits. The module operates with an input voltage range of 2VDC to 30VDC and can be connected to peripheral devices or a computer's serial port via the front-panel RS485 port. Designed for easy integration, the IC693PWR331 is installed in the leftmost slot of Series 90-30 baseplates. To ensure reliable performance, the unit should be kept away from dust, debris, and heat-generating equipment.
