Load Moment of Inertia
The allowable load moment of inertia depends on motor capacity and is limited to 5 to 30 times the motor inertia. This value serves as a guideline and may vary based on drive conditions.
Important: An overvoltage alarm may occur during deceleration if the load moment of inertia exceeds allowable limits. SERVOPACKs with built-in regenerative resistors may generate regeneration overload alarms. Recommended solutions include reducing torque limit, decreasing deceleration rate, lowering maximum motor speed, or installing external regenerative resistors.
Note: Regenerative resistors are not built into 200V (50W to 400W) and 100V (50W to 400W) SERVOPACKs. External regenerative resistors are required when load conditions exceed specifications or when built-in resistor capacity is insufficient.
