Measure each combination of wires and note the results. You should have three measurements: wires 1-2, wires 2-3, and wires 1-3. The meter readings will be the same for two sets. For the third set, resistance will be roughly doubled. These two wires are the main windings. The remaining wire is the common.
Measure each wire combination, noting results. When testing leads to one winding, result will be specified resistance ("R"). When testing leads to two windings, resistance will be double "R". Isolate the common wire with further testing to successfully decode the wiring.
