Module Description
The IC697BEM711 Bus Receiver Module facilitates rack expansion in Series 90-70 PLC systems. It features two communication interfaces: Port 1 connects to the CPU or other BEM modules, while Port 2 connects to expansion racks or additional BEM 711 modules. The module supports data transmission at 500 Kbytes/sec over distances up to 50 feet (15 meters) between modules.
System maintenance is simplified through fault isolation capabilities, allowing individual expansion racks to be isolated for troubleshooting. The output hold feature ensures output modules retain their last state during rack maintenance or failure. The final expansion rack requires a terminating resistor (IC697ACC702) to properly signal the network endpoint.
