 1747-AENTR Allen-Bradley ControlLogix    SLC 500 EtherNet/IP adapter module




The Allen-Bradley 1747-AENTR is a SLC 500 EtherNet/IP adapter module that allows SLC 500 I/O chassis to communicate with ControlLogix or CompactLogix controllers over an Ethernet/IP network. It enables phased modernization, replacing the SLC processor (in Slot 0) to reuse existing I/O with modern PLCs. 
Key Features and Specifications:
  • Module Slot: Must be placed in Slot 0 (leftmost slot).
  • Networking: Features two RJ-45, Category 5 Ethernet ports, supporting Device Level Ring (DLR) or linear topologies.
  • Power Consumption: 470 mA @ 5V DC.
  • Configuration: IP addresses can be set via rotary switches (default 192.168.1.xxx) or DHCP/BOOTP.
  • Migration Use Case: Replaces 1747-ASB (Remote I/O) or 1747-ACN15 (ControlNet) modules in distributed, remote rack setups. 
The 1747-AENTR allows for faster, cost-effective system upgrades compared to replacing all I/O modules. It is officially rated for use in hazardous environments, specifically Class I Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D

The 1747-AENTR is an Ethernet communication module launched by Rockwell Automation, designed to connect CompactLogix™ and ControlLogix® processors with SLC™ I/O modules, facilitating the migration of legacy systems. It offers EtherNet/IP communication capabilities, enhancing the integration of controllers with field devices, and is suitable for industrial scenarios where I/O expansion or control architecture upgrades are required.
