The GE Fanuc IC660BBS103 is an intelligent Genius I/O block module equipped with eight configurable circuits that can function as either input or output channels. It supports dual-voltage operation, compatible with both 115 VAC and 125 VDC power supplies.
 
Boasting compact physical dimensions of 8.83 in (22.44 cm) × 3.34 in (8.48 cm) × 3.91 in (9.93 cm) (H×W×D), the module has a net weight of 4 lbs (1.8 kg). It is integrated with status LED indicators, including Unit OK and I/O Enabled, as well as dedicated LEDs for each of the eight circuits to enable real-time operational monitoring. The module offers a block-to-block isolation rating of 1500 V, with maximum heat dissipation reaching 16.8 W under full-input operation and 45.6 W when all outputs are energized at 2 A per circuit. It operates within a voltage range of 93–132 VAC (47–63 Hz) or 105–132 VDC, and features a power supply dropout tolerance of 1 AC cycle for alternating current operation and 10 ms for direct current operation.
 
For input operation, the module delivers a processing latency of 2 ms for AC signals and 0.8 ms for DC signals. Both values are subject to adjustment based on the configured input filter time, which ranges from 10 ms to 100 ms in 10 ms increments. The input circuitry is built with diagnostic capabilities that detect open-wire faults, overtemperature conditions, and I/O power loss.
 
On the output side, the circuitry provides a 2 A current rating for AC operation; for DC operation, it supports 2 A resistive loads and 1 A inductive loads. The module features a turn-on delay of 0.5 Hz + 1 ms for AC outputs and 1 ms for DC outputs. Its output circuitry incorporates internal electronic short-circuit protection, with a trip response time of 100 ms for AC applications and 10 ms for DC applications. Furthermore, the output circuitry is equipped with comprehensive built-in diagnostics to identify short circuits, overloads, no-load conditions, overtemperature events, and I/O power loss.
 
As a versatile Genius I/O output block configured with eight output circuits and dual AC/DC voltage compatibility, the IC660BBS103 serves as the successor to the legacy GE IC660BBS101 I/O block. Notably, neither the IC660BBS103 nor its predecessor supports failed switch diagnostics.
 
Supplementing its input performance specifications, the module maintains AC and DC input processing latencies of 2 ms and 0.8 ms respectively, paired with a configurable input filter time spanning 10–100 ms in 10 ms steps. Its input diagnostic suite covers open-wire faults, overtemperature issues, and I/O power loss. The input load network is defined as 13 kΩ (resistor connected to the N terminal) and 0.1 μF (capacitor connected to the H terminal).
 
In terms of output specifications, the module provides 2 A RMS current for AC loads and 2 A resistive current for DC loads. The maximum block output current is rated at 15 A under 35 °C ambient temperature and 7.5 A at 60 °C, with internal electronic fusing to safeguard against short circuits. The module meets a vibration resistance rating of 5–10 Hz with 0.2 in displacement. It is designed to operate in environments with a relative humidity range of 5–95% (non-condensing), and the maximum ambient air temperature must not exceed 60 °C.
 
The eight output circuits of the IC660BBS103 are divided into four isolated groups, and the module is officially rated for 115 VAC and 125 VDC operation. Additional diagnostic capabilities include no-load detection, overload shutdown and identification, as well as overtemperature and open-wire detection for tri-state inputs.
