The IC660BBD025 is a sink-type I/O block from the Genius I/O Block series, primarily designed to implement distributed I/O architectures. As a fully functional Genius I/O node, it is equipped with 32 configurable I/O circuits, an integrated Genius communication terminal, and a built-in Hand Held Monitor (HHM) port. Formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, this product series and other associated automation devices have since been acquired by Emerson Automation.
Supporting remote installation—ideally positioned near the controlled machine or process—the IC660BBD025 can communicate with controllers at distances of up to 7,500 feet. It seamlessly integrates with Series 90-30, Series 90-70 controllers, other devices compatible with the Genius communication protocol, as well as Genius Bus Controllers, interface modules, and third-party equipment. Fully compatible with +5V transistor-transistor logic (TTL), this compact module holds certifications including UL and other relevant industrial standards.
For input operation, the module accepts a voltage range of 10–30 VDC for 12/24 V nominal supplies, and 4.9–5.3 VDC for 5 V nominal supplies (sink configuration only). Input circuits feature selectable filter times (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, or 100 ms) and an input processing latency of 1.4 ms. On the output side, each circuit is rated for 0.5 A continuous current, with a maximum inrush current of 4 A for up to 10 ms. The total output current capacity of the module is 16 A, and individual outputs have a turn-on delay of 0.5 ms.
The front panel of the IC660BBD025 houses various ports and LED indicators for intuitive operation. A monitor port is located on the top, enabling connection to programmable controllers or monitoring devices. Directly below this port are Serial Port 1, Serial Port 2, Shield In Port, and Shield Out Port. Status indicators include "Module OK" and "I/O Enabled" LEDs, which illuminate to confirm normal operation of the unit and its I/O functions; each of the 32 I/O points also has a dedicated LED that lights up when the point is active.
Physical dimensions of the module are 8.83 inches (height) × 3.58 inches (width) × 4.7 inches (depth). Heat dissipation is 11 W when 8 inputs are in use, and 18 W when all 32 I/O points are activated. It offers 850 V block-to-block isolation and incorporates built-in resettable self-protection circuits, including overtemperature, overload, and short-circuit protection.
